her life now.........."I
was in the Band between 1994-1999. I started off as a flag runner! I played
the Bass Clarinet during concert season and marched color guard. I really
enjoyed Jr. and Sr. clinic, as well as UT honors band. My senior year I
was color guard co-captain, historian, and I received the citizenship award.
I am now attending East Tennessee State University majoring in broadcasting
and minoring in political science. I have joined Sigma Kappa Sorority and
I work on campus as a radio DJ. My fondest memories from my time in the
THS band are winning South Doyle my Freshman year, Winter Guard finals

David acquired a great deal of leadership experience. His leadership
roles include:

of drum major at all the competitions the band went to his senior year),
he was also an active teacher, and will still give drum major lessons to
anyone interested! Dave was also head student instructor at pre-camp his
senior year and was a student instructor his junior year. On top of all
of that, Mr. Semones was the winner of the S.T. Boretsky Award for Outstanding

to finish college with his bachelor's in music education, and then teach
high school band for a few years. Later on, he plans to return to school
to receive his masters and then is doctorate. After David receives his
doctorate, he would like to try a career as a college band director or
possibly a conductor of a major symphony orchestra. Last but not least,
aside from all his hard work, David had a great time in the band and made
many great memories. " My greatest memories of the band were being
drum major, having great directors like Mr. Romines and Mr. Moore, the
band trips, and the long lasting friendships," said David. All in
all, David Semones had a great 4 years at THS, and will cherish his times
with the THS band! |
